Went a little overboard today For the first time since surgery, I made an impulse, "just feel like having that" choice on a snack. There was some leftover mashed potatoes in the fridge that I just HAD to have! Breakfast: 2 small cottage cheese pancakes Snack: Genisoy crisps Lunch: 1 piece of meat crust pizza Snack: 1/2 cup mashed potatoes Dinner: 1/2 turkey burger with 1/2 slice of provolone (left overs from last night) and a little bit of salad. 937 calories 91 carbs 30 fat (ouch) 62 protein

Hi Eileen, I did make the meat crust pizza and I started a thread called Monday is Recipe Day and posted it there. It's kind of like a thin meatloaf, but shaped and topped like a pizza. It's quite tasty, and even more so if you modify it with your own healthy toppings. Good luck and happy cooking! Donna

Donna Did you do okay with the left over turkey burger? Both times I had leftover meat (steak and turkey) with no type of sauce, they didn't sit well. The steak came back up. The turkey stayed but I ate only 1 bite and knew it wasn't going to work. No problem the first night when they were hot and juicy. I am queen of leftovers, so this has me down! I love to cook, but not much fun to cook 3 oz of meat and a couple bites of vegetables. Cleo

Cleo, I did ok with the leftover turkey burger. Before I even took a bite I thought, hmm, this is kinda dry. So I chewed till it was almost liquid before swallowing and it was fine. I also had to make sure I cut off small bites, like 1/2 inch square shapes lol. It took me about half an hour to eat half the turkey burger, but it stayed down and was very tasty. It occurs to me that I hadn't appreciated the real flavor of foods before surgery. I didn't know how to savor anything lol. This is turning out to be quite fun! Donna
