I'm thankful for my terrific husband, as always I'm thankful that the nasty thunderstorm that blew through here last night, and took our power out for the whole night, didn't cause any damage to our area. I thankful that the sun is shining and it's a beautiful day today! Donna

Today I give thanks for my husband and children for my son's musical ability for a beautiful day for all God's blessings for not feeling dizzy today (what was up with that yesterday?) for not having had foamies so far for all the Junesters

Foamies are when you swallow something you didn't chew well enough or ate too fast and it gets stuck going down. Your body then proceeds to make all kinds of extra mucus to try and lubricate it and force it through. If the food still doesn't go down, that excess mucus backs up and you start to throw up. Usually the first trip or two to the toilet it looks like foam when you throw up. And the nickname "Foamies" was born. Here's hoping your luck holds, and don't forget to CHEW CHEW CHEW Donna

Is it painful and do you feel sick? I so want to avoid it. I had one really bad experience 10 days out with eggplant and was up all night dry heaving and in excruciating pain. I am sorry for you that suffer like that often. Thanks for the info.

It can be painful because you can feel the muscles or whatever part of the body is working trying to force the food through an opening smaller than what you ate. Kinda like giving birth lol! What I do when I've done that to myself, is drink a cup of hot broth. The hot liquid sometimes will help break up what I ate (if it's something like dry fish or chicken), or it makes me throw it up and then after I get it unstuck, I feel perfectly fine again. Either way, I've learned the tricks to making the foamies not last long You can avoid the foamies by making sure you take small bites and chew it really well. Don't eat in front of the TV, computer, or an open book. You tend to shovel in when you're not paying attention...and that is how I ended up with the foamies about 90% of the time. Once from eating too fast when I was really hungry. Good luck to you! Donna

Hi Donna, I have to tell you something off topic. My husbands Dad died when he was 3 and he was adopted by his new stepfather-his birth Dad's name was Roger Jensen and so we named our son Jensen. He is 12 now. Anyway I just had to tell you that your name is very dear to my heart. Claudia
