:barf: question
I have been eating chicken for a while and everything has been fine. I had a protein shake for breakfast and just tried to eat lunch. I ate a few bites of chicken and then ran to the bathroom. I ate slow... I dont know what happened. Have any of you experienced something like this? I know its not dumping but I dont know why I got sick... hmmm
Well I've read that WLS patients are a lot more sensitive to any issues with the chicken. For example, if the chicken isn't cleaned as properly as it should have been you could be extra sensitive too it versus prior to surgery. Your old stomach was able to endure a lot more bacteria or even maybe minute amounts of samonella that your new stomach can't. When working in a resturaunt when I was younger I learned food prep..especially for chicken can be a tricky thing. So I would chalk it up to a one bad experience and try eating a different chicken some other time. Im not a medical professional though and just offering advice.
Bill's reply sounds pretty reasonable to me and I agree. I've also heard that it takes a while for things to settle down in our system. One day you can eat something, the next day you can't, the next week you can again. It's weird but our new pouches seems to be pretty finicky. I would just hold off for maybe a week or two and then try chicken again.
