Some of my new favorite things....

Ok....... so they say water has no taste, well "they" didn't have WLS, cuz now.... it doesn't taste so great. But we gotta get it all in, so I keep trying alternatives. And ofcourse the alternatives, can't have caffeine, carbonation or sugar. Hmmmm making it more difficult. So here are 3 of my solutions... alternatives.. new favorite things. 1) Mott's Light Plus Apple Juice.... its still got some sugars and calories, but a lot less than regular juice, plus its got some other vitamins and calcium and all that good stuff in it. And if you dilute it with water ( I dont), it cuts down the sugars and stuff too..... so its a "not so bad" alternative. I mean.... if you like apple juice. 2) Minute Maid Lemonade Light.... in the can. Its only 5 calories, comes in a fridge pack, the can gets REALLY cold in the fridge and its pretty good. No carbonation, cuz ummm its lemonade. It doesn't really taste THAT much different than like crystal light or anything, but I think the fact that its in the can..... makes it better. I don't feel like I'm missing out on my daily coke, cuz I'm still walking around with a can. (what is it with me about the dang can?) and my favorite 3) FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONADE... yeah, I've been making my own. I use to make the kids fresh squeezed lemonade all the time but with sugar and it was always SO good. The other day my youngest one asked why I never do that anymore. It's been a couple of years and I guess I just forgot. So I bought lemons and well... made lemonade. I use splenda to sweeten it with, but you could use whatever your favorite is.... equal, sweet n low, or splenda. That way you can sweeten it to your taste. My kids have actually been drinking this sugar free version, so it can't be that bad. Ok.... so thats my contribution for today. Anything to get all those fluids in. I'm turning into a sip-a-holic. grrrrrrr Mel =)

I have the same problem with water. My favorite bottle water tastes like dirt to me now. The only real bottled that I can tolerate is Figi and it is a bit expensive. I have been drinking crystal lite, but I have to dilute it. Can't stand the sweetness. so one 16 oz single makes me 32 oz of lemonade.

all i've been drinking is water. I bought some of that special K protein water but it was DISGUSTING. It tastes slimy and gross! I've had watered down juices, but I don't really like them that way... so i'm just sticking with water...

What kind of the special K water did you try? I bought the strawberry kiwi and I really like it! But it has to be cold! Beth

They make a diet Ocean Spray Cranberry juice that isnt too bad...I still dilute it with water. I'm a huge fan of Cherry Sugar Free Kool Aid, but it is getting harder to find. Crystal Light Sunrise is the bomb. You can get it for on the go too. There is also Sugar Free Kool Aid Tropical Punch on the go which is better than the Crystal Light Tropical Punch. Wally World makes a sugar free grape and cherry that aren't bad.

Have you tried Isopure? Its a protein water and can be purchased at GNC if not in your local grocery store. I can not get it here in Canada but I have been drink Stacker 2 protien water I thought the Isopure tasted pretty good and comes in lots of different flavours. Becky

I really like the Diet Ocean Spray, too (Cran-Grape and Cranberry). I used to drink the Isopure until I found New-Whey liquid protein. It's a 3 oz serving: 0 sugar, 0 fat. You can get it with 25g or 42g of protein. It helps me get in the protein I need and because it's only 3 oz, it doesn't interfere with my regular meals. You can find it at GNC, Vitamin World, and Vitamin Shoppe.
