Why do I enjoy watching cooking shows?

Is it just me or do other people like watching cooking shows? Is this some form of self torture? Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations is just a bad ass show. I love his books and show is fantastic. Top chef I think is a cool show. Now often times I will look at a recipe and try to think of a low carb and low fat way of making that item. It is sort of a game. However, 9 times out of 10 I still can't probably have that thing I am looking at. Does anyone else watch cooking shows? Are there other people out there doing this too? What do you watch? I just thought this would be a good forum discussion.

Well I am not a big fan of the cooking shows........but i love american idol,singing bee,project runway,flavor of love,charm school,new york,(almost embarrassed to say i watch some of them lol) i love everybody loves raymond ....my kids tell me i will act like the mother when i get older....LOL i like scrubs,house hunters,all the judge shows, dr phil, dr keith

I watched idol...and I catch Rock of Love...I thought Flavor of Love was a riot.

No every time I look at that man I just wonder what in the world women see in him. It's gotta be the golden grill or the fact he is portable clock (personally I think a wris****ch is more pratical and easier on the eyes.) However, I am an admirer of the viking helmet. Wouldn't it be funny if there was a national holiday dedicated to Flavor Flave where everyone had to dress up like him? I think it could be funny to imagine certain famous people dressed up like flavor flave. For example, Oprah or Bill O' Reilly dressed up as Flavor would be hysterical. Can you imagine a presidential debate where Clinton would yell, "Yeahhhhhhhh...Boyyyyeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!" after each statement, and Obama responded with "Word." Of course you can't leave out John Edwards saying, "Fer Realz?" It's scary enough that Karl Rove did a rap earlier this year. Sorry I dont mean to get politcal, but to me politics is the ultimate funny because these people take themselves too seriously. I think it would be funny if Burger King did a commercial with Flavor Flave and the grill on the top of his teeth said "Flame" and the bottom said "Broiled." He is a very funny man whose spirit you have to admire.

Oh my......the clock around the neck just kills me!!!!!!!! i mean i love mavado watches but would not,could not sport one around the neck...LOL.....I would love to see all the people dressed up as flav.......LOL...BILL O'REILLY LOL LOL LOL OLLOL what a great idea about burger king...........you should contact them i think it would be great!!!!! can you imagine him on the commerical showing him eating......LOL he is a very talented funny man and i truly believe he is a good person.......i personally think he's a riot.....

For the record the Burger King joke is about him wearing a grill on his teeth. I don't want anything misconstrued. I think God finds humor in all of humanity, regardless of color or creed, thats why he made something special about all of us to laugh at. As far as Flave goes...he seems to have a big heart, but damn he makes me laugh. He truly is one of the greatest hype men of all time. But taking that Burger King commerical a step further heck you could have everyone imitating Flavor. Like an old lady wearing a grill "With" on top and "Cheese" on the bottom. Wait that sounds wrong...Oh well. I'll stop now. May be there is a good reason I've stuck to magazine advertising.
