Anyone besides me having trouble with eggs? I have tried scrambled eggs and a deviled egg made with FF mayonaise, mustard, and relish. Both made me sick for over 12 hours. I don't think I ever want to try an egg again.

I have had both good and bad experiences with eggs. For the most part I think the best way to eat them is egg beaters, or egg whites. Now I have fun with them like that. I've made all sorts of creative omletes. Like the other day I made an egg white omlete with a little salsa, low fat cheddar, and some baby shrimp. It lasted me 3 meals and there was no problems.

I'll try the egg beaters with some cheese and salsa. That sounds great. I guess maybe it might be the fat content in the yellow of the egg causing the severe abdominal pains. So far eggs are the only thing I have not tolerated. Fish, chicken, beef and pork all see to go okay.

I was just fine with eggs until last week. Wednesday, I made my normal omelette with ff cheddar and took a couple of bites and was over the sink for 2 hours with foamies and had to lay down for a few hours. Not sure I want to try them ever again. GRRRR I love eggs! Pam

My NUT suggested boiled eggs. She said to make sure any eggs I eat are completely cooked- no runny yolks- and scrambled eggs must be dry. She said our smaller stomachs are more sensitive to any salmonella (sp) in the eggs. I've had no problems with eggs so far- omeletts, scrambeled and even tried a fried egg a couple of times.

Wow Miguel! Thanks for the info! I hadn't heard that before. Salmonella would definately be a bad thing to have to deal with. Pam

Hi Julie, I don't like them anymore, and I'm not going to say they make me sick, but I guess they just don't settle well. Maybe they would make me sick if I ate more of the egg, but I've tried them a few times and just don't really like them anymore. So, I put them in things, like I mentioned in the EVIL FOOD string a minute ago, but I'm not just eating them. I miss my lovely omelettes and poached eggs on toast, but I won't miss my butt when it goes away, so I'll live with the change, I guess--and without too much whining, because giving up eggs is a small price to pay for the new life I'm getting. Hugs to you. Cindy
