I have been noticing for the last week or so that my hair is really starting to come out. If I run my hands though it I get a couple strands. In the shower I get quite a bit It really doesn't help much that my little one likes to pull mommies hair. I have shoulder length hair that i try to keep nice. I am luck to have Thick hair but when i got my hair done for a friends wedding the hair dresser noticed that i was starting to get a little thin on top. I know that keeping my hair pulled back does not help the situation but i work as a nurse and its against their policy for long hair to be down. Just looking to vent. Jamie

not yet but my doc told me to make sure you get your protien because hair loss from lack of protien does not grow back.

Keep up the protien, and my hairdresser says biotin 2 x a day and Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment. So far, according to her, my hair is getting thicker.

not sure if it is a vitamin or mineral. I got mine at gnc fairly cheap. It is what is added to vitamins for the hair, nail formulas. Hope it helps

how much protein are you getting in every day? my dr. said during my pre-op diet, i had to take in no less than 50g per day, i've spoken to other WLS patients and they say after surgery, 50g is the minimum, and we should be aiming for 80g per day. also, what vitamins r u taking? if you have trouble getting your protein in, you can supplement with protein in capsule/pill form. any protein is better than no protein... take care, briggie

Jen - How much zinc are you taking? I started biotin a couple of months pre-op, using Nioxxin shampoo/scalp therapy, and getting in 100+ g protein per day. No signs yet, but I'll try everything to avoid it as my hair is not thick to begin with!
