I was banded on 6/19 and since then, all I have lost is around 12 pounds. Everyone else is talking about 30-40 pounds that had the surgery around the same time. Also, a lot of people are saying they lost weight prior to the surgery, which my doc didn't give me a liquid diet, he just said not to eat after midnight the night before. I am trying to eat right (though at times there are some slip ups) but the weight is just not coming off!!! What am I doing wrong????

Lap Band on 06/21/07 with
You are doing just fine... 1-2 pounds per week is totally normal... I was banded on 6/21 and I'm down a total of 24.5 including the 10 days of pre-op diet... 11 pounds is POST-op... so you are doing great... it will happen for ya. Have you had any fills yet?? I currently have 5cc in a 10cc band...

A lot of us on here have had RNY gastric bypass. The wieght loss rate is a little higher at first than with the lap band from what I heard. You're doing fine. Either surgery takes hard work to make them a success! I was on a 1200 calorie diet prior to surgery for a few months. I think weight loss before surgery makes you a big success, but my father and my sister had gastric bypass years ago through the military and they didn't have any kind of guidelines to follow before or after surgery and they did great. My NUT says to focus on protein first! Good luck!

Thanks to both of you. I just had my first fill on the 23rd. I will keep my head up and focus on the protein, I appreciate the encouragement.
