Post Op Favorite Food
So what is everyones favorite food that sits well. I am looking for something differnt to add to my routine.
One of my favorites is :
chipless nachos - FF refried beans, taco meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream.
mock manicotti - ricotta cheese covered with a good marinara and topped with motz and parm cheese (small dish can be microwaved in about a minute)
Whats yours?
My favorite Post Op food would have to be "seafood salad" made with fresh lobster meat, immitation crab meat, shrimp and octopus. I add a little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper. I also add a little bit of red and green peppers and onions. And put it on a FF 6" tortilla. I usually eat this 2 or 3 times a week. It has tons of protein.
Wow PAM!! You can eat that? I do well with FF refried beans with a little bit of shredded cheddar, but I got sooo sick on tomatoes. I LOVE salad and my doc said not until 6mos post op! I cheated and tried one small bite of tomatoe and yikes.. instant foamies!
I am still on very bland meals. I did try meat free spaghetti and sauce which I held down... but sorta felt like it was not worth it since there was no real protein to eat. I do best with Fish. Shrimp is still to much for my tummy too.
I missed for the first time last night garlic bread. I don't even know why... I just wanted a bite.... I don't crave bread at all..... and that is hard to admit for an Italian girl... but darn, I really wanted some garlic cheese bread!
I am interested in seeing what everyone eats so I can try it too!

my favorite changes from day to day. Especially since one day it might sit well and the next it might not. I've had grilled NY Strip steak that are REALLY thin cut and I eat about 1/3 of that with a little bit of baked potato (not loaded). I also make my kids tacos and other mexican dishes... I love the taco meat with cheese and picante sauce. I can eat a taco shell but prefer not to do it often, I can NOT eat a tortilla unless I want to get really sick. I have had a taco from Taco Bell... but can't eat a whole one and don't do that often.
Ummm lets see....... I make spaghetti and eat the sauce with some cheese and a half a piece of toast (I've even had a very small piece of garlic bread and dipped it in the sauce).
Other than that...... I love boiled or grilled shrimp, crab meat or tilapia.
I think the biggest trick for me is to make sure whatever meat I have is MOIST. I've even had baked chicken, no skin, marinated in italian dressing.
I also cut up meat REALLY small.... like for a 2 yr old. It helps with the chewing and going slower.
