First Fill today
Lap band on 6/18 - I had my 1st fill today. I only got 1 oz. Is that standard? I have lost 30 pds total and 15 of that was pre-surgery. I was disappointed with my weight loss - but my doc said that I was doing great. He said it is still in the healing mode. I thought the weight ought to be dropping off like melting blubber!
I ate a "smart one" for lunch and didn't notice anything. What has been other's experiences? This past week - I noticed I was able to eat larger portions than I had been able to before without feeling full.....so i hope this fill stops that!
Carlotta
Hey Carlotta,
I got a 1cc fill as well my first time, which was two weeks ago. I also didn't notice any difference the first day. But over the course of the next few days, I paid real close attention (as we're supposed to) to my fill signals. And, as expected, it came a little sooner than it had before. I can still eat about a cup of food (less if I'm eating dense meats), but I fill up for a longer period of time. Before my fill, I too was noticing I ate my meals and didn't feel full, so I was white knuckling that last week before the fill. And I was getting hungry between meals, too. Now, I'm not getting hungry when I shouldn't be, which is the best part.
As to being full, I feel satisfied and notice my fill signals, so I try to stop right then. Then, as my brain catches up with my spoon, about 15 minutes later, I feel fuller, which is why it's a real good idea to get intimate with my fill signal. Have you found yours yet? Mine is usually a little hiccup, but with spicier foods, I feel a little burning, and that stops me right away. Whether it's telling me I'm full, or I'm getting a little heartburn, either one is a good reason to stop. I had some fat free chili for lunch today and it gave me heartburn, where it hasn't before. Weird, huh?
Hey, good luck with your fill. Keep me posted, okay?
