New here...thanks a bunch!
I've been reading all of the advice you all have been giving each other and I want you all don't know how much it has helped me. I hadn't taken the time to write because I would just read, read, read, and it's helped me tremendously to know I wasn't alone. I'll take the time to read, and also write and maybe my experiences will help someone else.
Thanks again.
I feel very welcome already, this is a great group! I started off real scared and would cry for everything. I would wonder if I had done the right thing. Then a friend told me about this site and I started reading about all the different experiences and I thought to myself, ok, you're not going crazy. There's alot that's not explained before surgery and you feel alone. I've been following along with this group because of the our surgery dates and I'm very happy to know I wasn't nuts. Most of all my husband wants to thank you all (but he thinks I'm secretly chatting with someone cuz I'm always on the computer ha ha****ep reminding him, "It's therapy honey"
Well this seems as good a place as any to introduce myself as well so hear goes. My name is Joe I am 22 from England and weighed 329 lb pre op with a height of 5 ft 10 inches. Both my parents have had a RNY and they have enjoyed GREAT success, this drove me to do something about it before my health started to be affected. I have been finding it quite interesting reading all your posts to see what everyone is going through, that are on the same sort of timescale as me. I had a RNY on 6/30. It is also interesting observing the differences in the post operative eating procedure that you guys seem to have in the states. I seem to have been put on a much gentler re introduction to the foods. I have not as yet had any problems getting any food down and am eager to try new more interesting foods (much to my mothers annoyance). I go in for my 6 week assessment on Wednesday going in having lost almost 50 lbs. I would like to say thank you for everyones continuing posts and I hope I am able to contribute further throughout my time here.
