Jamie....this my loss so far and I had surgery a week before you. I have only lost 27 lbs since surgery. And....I have put 2 more back on because of my lovely monthly visitor....GRRRR. I know I am retaining water, so I may have to go back on one of
my blood pressure meds or something. The edema has gotten bad in my legs. The
don't even think I'm losing inches now. I am wearing the same clothes that I was
at three weeks out.
I think you have done a FABULOUS job! You are losing inches too! Keep up the GREAT work!
Pam
I have only lost a total of 21 pounds since my June 27th surgery. I am also still wearing my regular clothes. Granted they had gotten very uncomfortable and now are loose but am looking forward to movig down a size. Keep up the good work. We are all individuals and will all loose differently. It's the final result that we are looking for.

Jamie - It WILL happen. In addition to getting in protein and water, start counting calories and making sure you're getting in enough so your body isn't in starvation mode. My doc and nutritionist recommended at least 800 calories at 1 month, working toward 1000. When I increased from about 600 calories, I saw the scale start to move. Maybe it was co-ink-a-dink, but it worked for me!
Keep on going and good luck!
Thank you everyone
I have started making sure that I work on getting in more Protein and eating more. I am actually eating breakfast right now. I am having the Special K- Protein Plus- very soggy...lol I m hoping that once my "friend" is gone that the weight loss will pick back up again. I am trying very hard to resist the urge the step on the scale everyday. that gets hard. I am making sure that i keep updating Fitday and keep track of my intake so that i know what my bodies needs are.
I good question for everyone- How many NUTappointments did you get? and do you think you were prepared for eating after surgery?
- I had one meeting where I was given a Packet of what i can eat the first few weeks out but other that that I kinda feel bewildered that when having weight loss surgery that there is not more food education provided.
When I signed up for the weight loss surgery I had an appt with the NUT to discuss my eating habits before surgery- with her help I was able to lose 35 pounds before surgery.
Then I had a "class" with 10 other WLS candidates. It was every Tuesday during the month of January- it lasted about 1 1/2 hours. It was discussing how to eat and what to eat in the first couple of days and weeks after surgery.
Since my surgery on 6/18 I have seen the NUT 2 more times. In order to graduate from liquids to soft foods at 3wks out and again just this week to graduate from the soft foods to "regular" foods.
I'm really surprised that your program was so lax on the food education. Isn't our poor food choices in the past what got us here in the 1st place?
