Wendy's is a favorite place of ours since my surgery. I get chili, or a Kids meal with Turkey or Ham Sandwich, pitch the bun and eat the meat, share the oranges with my son, opt for the milk and he gets the toy. Chili is also one of my favorites, I just wi**** would come in a smaller portion. My Dear Hubby gets the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Oddly enough it doesn't bother me to see him eat my ex favorate burger.
Don't beat yourself up about the pizza, sounds like you had a stressfull day. Look at the positive, before surgery, what would you have eaten then? We may slip and fall now and again, but we are still strides ahead of where we used to be.
thanxs guys i know i am going to slip up every now and then I am human, but its hard to be tired and even think of soemthing to make when your 3 year old is hungry and mom is tired and worn out, but yeah it all went out this morning and i am ok today still a tad sleepy but i think i am going to go hang by the pool all day i know i need to get my hair done to gggggrrrrr i start my new job the 13th i am going back to work after year and a half off from the salon and i am going back jumping in full time and i think i am goin to be worn out but i gotta do it, i cant be in this house no more,
I'm not much of a chili eater or pizza (well I've just been afraid of pizza since surgery), but I have done a stupid thing like eat ice cream and was disappointed because I didn't get sick. I've had a spoonful here and there of ice cream and have been fine. I ate bacon last weekend when my family and I went out to breakfast... that's didn't bother me either. I eat slow enough to where I can stop before I get sick. If something doesn't agree with me, I usually can tell after one or two bites.
Hey Serena,
My doctor said I could eat lowfat chili, so I bought Dennison's 98% fat free turkey chili, and felt like I was eating filet mignon. Girl, I love chili, but am not usually into eating the canned, because I'm a pretty good cook, and like the homemade stuff. But I was willing, so I tried it. It feels like I'm cheating, but I've read the label a billion times and it really is okay. Funny thing, I tried the same chili a couple of years ago and hated it, because I don't like kidney beans, and it seemed bland. Silly rabbit! Now, like I said, it's a real treat. Give it a try. Just eat less than you think you can, to test out your tolerance for it.
Love,
Cindy
I hate seeing everyone beat themselves up because they've had a little bit of food that isn't the greatest for them. I know that my NUT told me that at 4 months I could begin to eat all the normal foods that I use to eat.... in moderation. Ofcourse, they want you to stay away from the foods that are high fat and low nutritional value, but a bite here or there isn't going to kill you. Remember moderation, remember not to splurge like that everyday, but also remember that some days are different than others, sometimes its just not feasible to deal with everything you have going on in the day and then fix a high protein/low carb meal. You've got to learn what foods you can tolerate and stay away from the ones you can't. Everyone is different when it comes to that. I also know from years of yo yo dieting, that if you completely avoid something, you're going to be more prone to cheat. My surgeon even told me when my birthday rolls around.... take a bite of the cake. Then put the fork down and walk away. Mostly I crave things that are good for me... which is a blessing, but I've tried other foods that probably weren't as great. I've tried pizza, the crust/dough doesn't work so well for me. So its usually 2 bites and I'm done. I try to stay away from anything fried or anything with tortillas, but if it weren't for taco bell tacos, I may not have survived on vacation. I can't eat a whole one, but I can eat it, tolerate and not have it come back up later. And at this point.... I honestly think that its better to be able to eat something and keep it down, than to worry about ONLY eating things that are higher in protein and lower in fat.
I know some of you may be fuming after reading this..... everyone has their own opinions and what works for them. If it doesn't work for you...... don't try it. I just hate to see people belittle themselves because they had a bite of icecream or some pizza. Atleast it wasn't an entire pint or the whole pizza.
