Hey guys I'm about 4.5 weeks post op and and having the hardest time eating every single time I try to eat I get this weird ache in my stomach. I guess you could say it kind of feels like the dumping feeling but different. I can't eat anything without this feeling and it's starting to happen when I drink too. I can't eat anything I was able to eat even 2 weeks post op. I constantly have this feeling to vomit and have done so a couple of times. I also have this weird spit up/bile that keeps coming back up everytime I do try and eat anything. I'm getting a little scared I'm supposed to be able to eat more variety now not eat less period. I can't eat anything I think in the past 3 days I've had about an 1/8 cup of dry cereal with 1% milk and even that still felt horrib le after I ate it. Is anyone else having this happen to them I'm scared something might be wrong this has been happening for about 2 weeks but it's getting worse every day. Any help would be great. Shelly

Shelly... You should probably call your surgeon. I have only had problems when I eat something too fast, but if its happening every time you try to eat or drink and you're chewing slowly, its possible you could have a stricture. I haven't had one, but I know its a common occurance. So give your surgeon a call and see what he/she has to say. Hopefully its nothing and you'll be back to normal in no time. =) Melinda

Sounds to me like you're A) eating too fast, B) taking too big of bites, C) not chewing well enough. I speak from experience, I was having those same pains and spitting up icky stuff too till I slowed down and took smaller bites. You're not drinking with meals right? You might be lactose intolerant too. However, I'd call your surgeon first chance you get, he's the best advice giver! Donna

I would recommend calling your surgeon. I would also chew chew chew and eat very slowly. I usually know after one or 2 bites if something isn't going to agree with me so i have no problem getting out while I can... Please let us know how you're doing! Hope you're feeling better! ~Michelle

I posted about this not to long ago...I didn't read this before posting a post earlier today. But I have been having the same problem and I called my RD today and she thinks it's a stricture. (DON'T DO THIS WITHOUT TALKING TO YOUR DR) but she told me for 2 weeks to stop all meds and vitamins, that sometimes adding to many meds to fast can hurt the pouch. I'm supposed to call her back by friday to let her know if I can eat/drink better. But If you are like me and follow all the rules chewing a million times and sipping and waiting to drink after your meal etc. not eating/drinking to fast....it's likely we have a stricture. I will keep everyone posted with what turns out. Absolutely call your doc or RD today. Don't wait any longer. Let me know what your RD or doc says! I'll keep you in my prayers and feel your pain. God Bless Robin

I put a call in to my surgeon and they said it sounds like it may be a stricture. They are going to be scheduling me a scope she said hopefully this week. I have to say I don't think I've ever been this hungary and also so scared to eat. I'm in misery. I wi**** was because I was just eating too fast but it's not I can't even eat small spoon full of yogurt or pudding without my stomach going into chaos. It's even difficult to drink liquid. I just want to get what ever it is fixed. I just want to be able to eat again without being in pain. I'll let you all know how it goes. Shelly
