have any of you reached a plateau on your weight loss yet? i've stayed the same weight the last several days and it's got me sort of frustrated. I don't have that much weight to lose, but i'm not ready to stop losing. I lost a lot of weight before surgery (more than i had to). so now it's over 50 pounds altogether. I'm happy, but i'm not ready to have a break in my weight loss. You know what I mean?

Like you, I had lost weight prior to my surgery 06/05/07 ... about 20 lbs. When I actually had my surgery, my weight dropped unbelievably fast for the first 10 days. I dropped 15 lbs! Then, NOTHING and I mean nothing for more than 2 weeks. I couldn't believe it. Like you, I was not ready for the weight loss to stop soooo sooooonnnnnnn. My surgery weight was 233, my weight today is 205 ... That's a 28 lb loss. I'm not bragging, I just want you to know that it does move again. I'm also sure that I'll stall again. Barb

Aw thanks! I was 214 when i went in for surgery and now I'm at 190.5. Before surgery I lost a little over 30 pounds. I'm happy about what I've lost... but want to keep losing! I know we'll have times where the weight comes off slower... I just wasn't ready... Anyway... thanks for your reply!

Hey Michelle, totally normal! It's actually called hibernation at 2-3 weeks. Your body is thinking you are starving it and holding onto everything right now. My surgeon warned me it would happen and it did at 2 weeks....now the scale is moving quite slow. He also told me that at the times that the scale doesn't move, my body will be losing inches. So....take your measurements and start tracking, I almost guarantee you are losing inches. While the scale wasn't moving, I went down 2 sizes, so...it's true. Pam

I was the same weight for the past week and then today I lost 3 lbs. From what I've read everyone hits a stall around weeks 3 and 4.

I hit one at 6 weeks. The scale didn't move all week. I kicked up the exercise, and walked the zoo for 2.5 hours on saturday, and dropped 3 pounds on Sunday, and another 1.5 today.

Okay....that's it everyone. We're all meeting and walking the zoo. Which one should we go to? *S* I need to add my hills back into my walks now that I'm not having the pain anymore from pushing myself. That is a really good idea though going to the zoo. Pam
