1 month post-op today!
So just 4 weeks ago today - and even at this hour, I was having surgery! I've lost 43 lbs so far but more importantly I am off of my blood pressure pills and I feel SO much better already. I can walk up and down the stairs without my knee's and ankles killing me and just this week I have been able to get down on the floor and chase the kids (on my knees) without wondering if there is anything strong enough for me to pull myself back up on. I also reached my first goal, which was to be able to wear my wedding ring again, and now it not only fits it is loose!
There's my WOW moments for the day!
Congratulations Buffy!
That's all great news! No blood pressure pills, already? That's so great. I'm hoping that when I see my PCP, she'll remove those from me too, but I haven't lost as much as you yet. Not complaining, though, because for a lap bander, 30 pounds in 6 weeks is apparently really good. We lose slower than you RNY folks, so I guess we play catch-up sometimes. But I'm soo, so happy for you! That much gone in such a short time must feel fantastic! My 30 feels great, so I can only imagine how excited you are with your 43! And yeah, that walking the stairs thing? Too cool. I decided yesterday to take the stairs instead of the elevator finally, and I didn't feel out of breath at the top, which was really great for me.
I went out to eat with a friend last night and got to have my first salad since surgery, and I was so happy! No complications, no problems. Just a fun evening with a friend, and I was not concentrating on the food. That was a wow moment for me. Thanks for sharing your success! It's so encouraging to hear from others!

43 pounds already at 1 month out, holy moly! That's awesome! I'm at half that for the same amount of time (plus a few days) but I'm not discouraged or anything. What I am is happy for you! I also got my wedding ring on again for the first time in 3 years last week so I know how you feel on that score. I've also noticed SPACE in between my belly and the steering wheel of my car! It was a shocker to me hehe. Keep those wow moments coming, we love to hear 'em!
