A Terrible Loss

Hi Everyone, I'm feeling very down this evening. I found out today that one of the guys I met at my nutrition class passed away yesterday. My husband and I had become friends with him and his wife (she had RNY 2 years ago and lost 160 lbs). Wayne had surgery on July 9, open RNY. Last night a blood clot broke loose and went to his heart causing a fatal heart attack. I just can't wrap my brain around it. Thanks for listening, Mary

Oh Mary! I'm so sorry to hear of this. I pray God's peace upon everyone affected by his loss and hope that comfort will envelop each and everyone. We hear it can happen, but we never think it will happen to someone we know. Hugs to you! Pam

wow..............how awful.................that is SUPER scary for you and ALL of us........... It really makes you think huh?? Im really sorry.........did he have kids?

His kids were grown already. I believe he had 2 sons and one boy that he considered his son although it was not biological. He was a good man.

Thanks Pam. The funeral service is Friday. I just talked to his wife and she is just a mess. I don't think he even had a worry that this would be his fate because his wife came through everything so well a couple of years ago. I'm afraid they didn't have any life insurance. I'm not positive about that but they are taking donations to the family in lieu of flowers, so that is my guess.

I'm so sorry Mary, my prayers go out for his wife and family....and for you and your husband. It's very difficult to deal with a death of someone close to you (hugs). Donna

Thanks Donna. I just can't seem to comprehend it. I am no good at dealing with death. I know that sounds stupid because people dying is hard for everyone to deal with. But I just have no coping skills at all when it comes to this.
