Is anyone finding they're more sleepy now?

Hi guys, I got my band on June 7, and I feel great. I'm down good weight so far (around 30 already!), getting all my protein and vitamins, trying to get all my water, and am walking regularly, which I hear I'll start loving soon. LOL My only problem, which makes me almost embarrassed to ask, because I'm so blessed so far, is that I'm really sleepy every day. I thankfully can, if I need to, take a tiny snooze at my lunch hour--15 minute catnap worked really well yesterday--but it's just not normal for me to be sleepy during the day. Have any of you experienced this? Thanks, Cindy

I'm sleepy every afternoon since surgery. I'm told to expect this because we're only getting a fraction of the calories we were getting before, and our bodies may take longer to recover on the inside even if we feel great and are rarin' to go. Everyone I've talked to at my support group said the same thing too, so I'm figuring it's pretty normal. Donna

I have been sleeping 9-11 hours each night. I teach and am off school for the summer, so I have the luxury of sleeping in. I hear people talk about not getting a lot of sleep after surgery, but that is not me. ~Naomi

Very normal! A friend of mine told me to expect it. I haven't been too bad, but have noticed around 2:30, I'd like to take a nap. Pam

I get very sleepy during the day. However, I find if I fight the urge to nap, I do better. I seem to get my energy back better by getting up and moving around.

Yes, I'm definitely more sleepy during the day, but my comes at about 6 pm when I get my first "down time" for the day (after work and gym). I recently started on B complex/B-12 sublingual drops because the doc said it would help combat energy drop due to reduced calories, etc. If you're not on B-12, perhaps you could call your dr and check it out. So, which of the dwarves was Sleepy? Good luck!

Thanks guys! I'm glad to know I'm normal on this issue. It's hard to complain when this is the only thing remotely like a side effect I've experienced (other than the wretched constipation, which I've got under control now, I think). Cleo, thanks so much for the information about the B vitamins. I'm getting my first fill (yeah!) Monday, so I'll ask Dr. Machado about that--in addition to all the other questions I have for her. I'd better make a list. Oh, and I'm nearly short enough to be one of Snow White's dwarves, so I guess I could give myself a new nickname! Here comes Sleepy! Thanks again! Cindy
