black tongue and spit!!

ok well I have had a belly ache all day and I even tried to throw up a little and when I did only a black spitty foam would come up!! And when I looked in the mirror at my tongue it is stained black! WTH!!?? Im going to call the doc in the morning but have any of you guys heard of this before?? While I was throwing up I had hot flashes and I felt like I was going to pass out! And I have this REALLY weird taste of metal in my mouth (not a blood taste) but a "metal" taste.............. what the heck is going on???

Hi Katie, I am still getting over an oral yeast infection brought on by all the antibiotics pumped in during surgery. My tongue was milky white on the edges, but black everywhere else. I had a horrible taste in my mouth. My doctor gave me a script for a medicine you swish and swallow. It is kind of gross, but it is doing the trick. However, I didn't throw up at all, so what you have could be different. Definitely call your doctor tomorrow! ~Naomi

It sounds like something Naomi had (also on this board). Her's ended up being oral thrush. She could talk to you more about it -- she even has a picture of her blackish tongue!

Definitely sounds like oral thru**** is easy to get rid of. Hopefully you called the doc and already have your script! Let us know!
