I do not know when i am suppost to start doing the 3 meals a day and then 16oz between meals. I also had thought as well that someone had said it was ok to drink 1/2 an hour later. is it because we are on the puree stage? I am 2 1/2 weeks out and i have been trying to do the 3 meals a day but i find that i am getting dehydrated that way. I feel full with about 2 tbsps of food and maybe about 4 oz of water..not at the same time. I know that we are not suppost to eat and drink at the same time. thanks for the help : ) Jamie

I am right there with you. I was just put in the hospital for being dehydrated. I think that My pureed is to thick and that is why I get full to quick. also, You really shouldn't drin****il 45 minutes after your meal because it flushes out your pouch. hope that helps. Blessings, Valarie

Hey Jamie- Keep working on the water. Sip,sip, sip. I get most a majority of my water in on my walks. I always have the water bottle with me. As far as your diet, all surgeons are different as when to start new phases and amounts. You should really contact them and let them know what's going on with your eating. Just want to make sure all is okay. Pam

I was told not to drink 1/2 hour before meas and one hour after. Not only can water fill you up before a meal, but after water can cause food in your stomach to swell and/or can wash away the food before it has time to be absorbed. I have only been getting in 30-40 ounces of water and really feel that is not enough. At this point I am most concerned with protein and fluids. I do protein drinks at least twice daily, which covers both basis. At this stage the food we can eat doesn't really give that much nutritionally (protein wise), so I am less concerned with the 3 meals and more with not getting dehydrated. Like you, I am still trying to find that balance. ~Naomi

I am also three weeks out from being banded. I do drink all my water. I started yesterday doing the three meals. I felt tired and thirsty. So today, I had the three little meals and also had two protein shakes with about 50 grams of protein. I feel great. Marilyn
