Can anyone tell me what is going on? I had my lap band surgery June 8th. I started to get hungry three weeks after surgery. I had my first band fill 10 days ago and I am still hungry. I am going July 17 to get my band filled again. Is this normal. What can I do? Help I am going off the wagon so I am exercising more to compensate. Sheila

Sheila....sorry, I didn't get the Lap Band, but I sure hope things work out for you. Have you tried drinking water when you are hungry? Have you asked your surgeon if this is normal? Pam

It's totally normal... it might take you 2 fills, it might take you 5-6 fills....and maybe even a unfill if you end up too tight.... it IS a slow process, and that really is a good thing.... you WILL find YOUR "sweet spot" and the prefect restriction...but give it some time. As long as you are still losing, no since in messing with it. If you go two weeks in a row without losing 2 pounds per week... then it might be time for another fill. Be nice to your band and just follow your surgeon/Dr orders.... be sure to drink your water, and get the right amount of protein, and some exercise, everyone is different, because we all start in different places weight wise. Measure out your food, put it on your plate and don't go back for 2nds.... just because you CAN eat more then you know you should, does not mean you have to! This is what I'm dealing with now... I have to talk back to myself...when I want to eat to much..... I still have 13 days left until my 1st fill "appointment"....BUT because I'm still losing at a good rate right now.... they might not even give it to me...and have me come back in 2-4 weeks depending if I keep losing on my own. Hope this makes sense.... ask more questions if you have them....that is what we are all here for. BEST OF LUCK TO BOTH OF YOU!!
