My doctor has me taking 2 Flinstone chewables and 2 Tums daily for my vitamins and calcium. I have also tried the vitamins made especially for Bariatric patients, but you have to take 4 a day and I don't care for them that much.

Hi Katie, im new here but thought i would tell you about the Caltrate 600+D plus minerals. they taste great and are not that expensive I think I paid about 7.00 for 60 tablets. the label reads this: Magnesium 40mg calcium 600 mg Vitamin D 400 IU Zinc 7.5 mg copper 1 mg Manganese 1.8 mg Boron 250 mg The dosage states two per day so i do one in the morning and one at night. I sure hope this helps, good luck!! Tressie

I was told to take Flintstones Chewables... 3 times a day and Caltrate D chewable 2 times a day.......... and not together. I'm suppose to take them atleast 2 hours apart, so that my body can absorb what I need. Cuz dont forget, the surgery that most of us had is also a malabsorption procedure, so just because its in there, doesn't mean you're getting what you need out of it. I'm suppose to add in B12, sublingual once a week, but not for another month or so. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I get my vitamins from http://www.bbvitamins.com and they are not too expensive. Although I guess everyone has a different definition of expensive hehe My calcium comes in a chocolate flavor that I really like for about $10 a bottle and it is a 30 day supply. Plus they are formulated for bariatric patients. As for the person taking Tums, please be careful. About 5 years ago I developed kidney stones from eating a couple of Tums a day as my calcium source. I was passing a kidney stone about once a week or so and believe me, they HURT. Then one got too big to pass and I was in the hospital for a couple of days. As soon as I stopped eating Tums, I haven't had a kidney stone in 5 years. Tums are calcium carbonate, and my surgeon advised that my calcium source should be calcium citrate. Just an FYI. Donna

Thanks for posting the link! Those are the vitamins I take and I HATE taking the anit-ox pill. I see there that they now have the anit-ox in a chewable! Woo Hoo!!!!! I used to hate to take my iron pill, but the new black cherry chewables they offer taste really good. I wish the multi and the calcuim tasted that good - LOL! I kept meaning to go there to buy a 90 day supply, but when I went for my 1 mo check up I just bought more. I am going to order now - especially the anit-ox chewables! I can't wait until I no longer have to take my pepcid and potassium pill. Then I will be 100% chewables!

okay - for calcium i take 4-6 tums "smoothies" every day. i take 2 with breakfast, and 2 with dinner (sometimes if my tummy is a bit upset i add 1-2 at lunch/bedtime). now, i am not a big fan of tums or pepto or anything chewable but these aren't too bad. i break them apart and chew them a little at a time. as for vitamins, i take 2 childrens vitamins a day. 1 in the am and one in the pm. my husband thought he was really funny by getting me Marvel Super Heroes chewables, and honestly they are good. they are the sour gummy ones and i give a few chews and swallow and they stay down. Now after saying that - i can't wait till i can take my regular vitamins Nutrilite Double X and Nutrilite Fruit and Vegetable Concentrate. You can check them out a www.jbmall.biz and get all the nutrional info on them. just make sure for now you get your calcium in, and take 2 childrens vitamins daily. hope this helps you... i also have a blog at www.jehovahroi.wordpress.com and would love for you to visit sometime.
