Ok, so I studied and prepped and had the surgery on my birthday, June 18,2007 . So far I have lost a total of 23 pounds but my back is preventing me from walking as much as I would like to. I am up to three times a day at five minutes per walk on the treadmill. Im working on getting up to 10 min each session. I was feeling weaker than I thought I should and bought some liquid vitamin b12 it has really helped alot. I am confused some on the foods I should be eating, others tell me they didnt eat any kind of regular foods until they were three!! months out, i can already eat a fourth of a sandwich with shaved turkey. I cannot eat Tuna, it hurts! I am working on a healthier choice for foods, tho I must admit the cream of chicken low sodium, low fat is great!! Other things that should bother me , DONT! For example, cornbread and crackers are going down easy , tho I dont eat them daily, I do try to stick to the mushy foods without pieces, like babyfood, umm yeah...but so far i feel okay. Chewable vitamins and chewable calcium citrate have helped alot. Any suggestions?? I am in San Antonio and cant find a support group here. I know almost no one so any takers? Would love to have someone close that has been there to share this with!

Hi Tressie, There are a lot of things you can eat at your stage. My nutritionist gave me a list which I will send to you as a message. Sorry you can't find a support group there in San Antonio. It really is good to have people who have gone through this to lean on. Feel free to message me anytime. I had my surgery 4 days before you, so we are about at the same stage. Good luck. Mary

Hey Tressie! Nice to meet you! We have the same surgery date! All surgeons programs are different, some do LD for awhile. I didn't need to at all. I was sent home on soft foods right away. Cottage cheese, canned tuna, canned chicken both with a little non-fat miracle whip, scrambled eggs, cheese, etc. You've done an excellent job on the weight loss, keep up the GREAT work! I've lost 20, but have been in a stall for a week and a half. I know I've lost inches since I've been in the stall. My unders are already baggie. LOL This is a GREAT site for support. Don't be afraid to ask anything....I'm not! LOL Pam

i lucked out my birthday was june 30th and I had surgery the 29th so it was my birthday hehehe i love it, I am really trying many different foods I mean I got a list but like with the fish, i bought a george foreman grill TO KNOCK OUT THE FAT and i marinade tilapia and then i take squash and marinade it in garlic parsley and olive oil and grill it all its wonderful and helthy for everyone, marinades are the key to softer chicken with tate and fishes, even veggies I use to be a huge ketchup eater and now I marinade everything with anything just try things till you like them, i also found soy chips that are garlic cheese and they are great for a salty treat full of protein, hope that helps.
