Well I am 5 days post op and I am getting around 80 grams of protein a day. I figured out real quick that if I wanted to get it all in I would have to drink and eat alot of things I don't like. I take the Campbells Healthy Request soups like Tomato Cream of chick with herbs, and I put a can of skim milk (10Protein) 1/3 cup nonfat dry millk (8 protein makes it creamier) and 4 scoops beneprotein (24protein) or you can use any other unflavored protein powder. Not the best but it goes down ok. If you put it in four oz cups its about 10 proteins a serving. Also I make pudding. I like the sugar free chocolate fudge made with skim milk and two scoops chocolate body fortress protein powder (walmart) It makes four four oz servings at 14 grams of protein a serving. Also I am sipping on the Isopure grape and mango. Like I said it doesn't all taste good but it won't last too long.

I'm 8 days post op here and my surgeon wants those protein drinks to be the first thing I take in, then other foods as I get hungry. I have a big jar of Syntrax Essence chocolate flavor protein powder. I mix in 1 scoop with about 8-10 ounces of light soy milk, vanilla flavor. The trick is letting it sit for 5ish minutes after mixing to get it all dissolved. This stuff tastes like a thick and creamy chocolate milk and I LOVE it. I have one of these in the morning and one in the evening and that alone takes care of about 60 grams of protein. It also counts towards your fluid intake for the day, so thats a plus. It might take some experimenting to find something you like, and I have a sample packet of this Essence if you want to try it, I can send it to you. Let me know, and good luck Donna

Thanks, that's one I haven't tried. Where do you buy it? Would you mind sending me a sample? That would be wonderful. Wendy Garland, 10702 Haskell Court, Richmond, VA 23236 ---- do you have paypal? I'll pay you. I'll have to send my husband out on a mission to find it.

Hi Wendy, I have paypal but you don't have to pay me for it. It is just a sample pack that costs $2. I'll get it out in the mail tomorrow. As for where to buy it, I get it from my doctors office where he has a small shop set up for his patients. They will ship also and you can download a booklet with all the products and prices at: http://www.bariatricsoftexas.com/brc.htm I also found a website where the price is a little lower but then when you add in shipping it's back to the doctor's office prices lol, but check this link out as well: http://www.bodyconcept.com/family/1500/display.html I'll get this sample packet out tomorrow Donna

Hey Wendy, How are you? I told Dr. Kim we met at the class and he said you were doing great. That was about a week and a half ago. I have found IDS protein powder. They have many different flavors and you can mix it in your coffee. I get the vanilla cinnamon, it has 26 grams in 1 scoop. Just google IDS protein and it will give you plenty of sites to buy it from. I know you said you do not like the bullets, but try putting it in you water. The consistency is not bad then. The taste is not great but it is tolerable. I hope this helps, have you tried those Isopure drinks I showed you at class. They have 40 grams in one bottle. Good luck!!!

I am really doing well. I came home on Wednesday night and have walked at least 20 minutes a day since. We went to church yesterday and today I am taking it easy. I have been able to get my protein in but it means choking down some of it. The only day I had a probelm was the first day home. My big dilemma is the vitamins. Just trying to get them all down, and space put the ones Pam told me to. I feel like I am taking vitamins all day. I know it will get better. I get to go get the drain tube out Thursday. Thank goodness, it is not like it hurts or anything, just sooooo annoying. How was your trip home? How was surgery? Keep in touch.

Hi Wendy, I use GNC Designer Whey powder. I'ts pretty good, considering I would just gag at the thought of a protein drink. I blend mine 1c. milk, 8 ice cubes, 1 scoop powder and blend well then I top with a couple spoons of Cool whip FREE, My husband thinks this is a treat (he's not even over weight). I also like to make a mock frappacchino whith the chocolate and add some coffee. Hope this helps. Terry

Wendy, I just found a new one by accident and I actually enjoyed the taste. It is called "CHIKE!". The choc. smells just like the cake mix, and has a good taste IMO. The strawberry burst is also good. They also have orange creme, haven't tried it yet. Protein: Choc=28 g, Strawberry=27 g, Orange=27 g. The store I found them out was in Denison, TX, they were trying them out so I was able to be the "guinea". The website is www.chikenutrition.com. Hope this helps some. Kristina
