Hey Junsters, now that we're all done (besides 3 happening tomorrow)...
Lurker coming out here... Had my surgery on the 20th and have lost 14 pounds. My doc had me on full liquids on day 2, just moved me to puree'd foods yesterday (day 8), to soft foods in two weeks... looks like he moves a lot quicker than others. In any case I feel GREAT!

Hey all,
Haven't been on much the last week. Thought I'd come on as I couldn't sleep anymore, just too uncomfortable.
Here's my tally....all in all, pretty happy with it.
Surgeon Consult May 3: 300.5
Surgery Day June 18: 276 (-24.5)
Today June 30: 261 (-15)
Total lost (-39.5)
Everyone is doing SO well, keep up the excellent work!

Only 14 lbs since surgery. I'm actually pretty confused. I am eating once or twice a day...about 1/4 cup of pureed tuna or ricotta or soup. Two protein drinks, tons of water. I'm still in a lot of pain on the left, so I'm not exercising as much as I should, but I really thought I'd be losing faster at this point.
I'm having lots of emotional issues too. Not thinking I made a mistake or anything. Just days where all I want to do it cry. Or the littlest thing can throw me over the edge. I've been told women store hormones in fat cells, and when you start losing fat hormones can cause these feelings. My head is a mess because it wants to be back at work, really cleaning the house, etc, but my body won't let me. I went to work yesterday for the first time. Went for 4.5 hours and hurt so bad it was all I could do to drive home.
I know it will all pass, and I'm just having a pity party. Sorry. I am hoping that going back to work part time next week will help make stop me feel a little more normal. Two more weeks of pureed food...then a month of soft. If anyone's got any good vegetarian puree recipes I'd love em!
