Surgery on June 25, I feel like CRAP!!!! HELP!
I had my lap RNY on June 25, left the hospital on June 26, and I feel so crappy. I'm tired, I'm cranky, I'm in pain, I feel sick to my stomach, I can't drink anything bu****er, everything else grosses me out, and I feel like I have no energy. I am taking lortab for pain, but it's grossing me out and I don't want to take it anymore. I am trying my hardest to get all my liquids in... I'm supposed to have 52 oz today and I have had like 40 so far. I am walking around a bit... I am just absolutely miserable. Please pray for me to feel better. Any suggestions would be welcome too.
Trish~
Hang in there girl. I had mine on the 25th also and to be honest, I don't feel great either, but....it gets better each day. Sometimes I wonder why I did this to myself and then I get on this website and am encouraged by all of the inspirational stories from all of our buddies out here who have already overcome these first few weeks, months, etc. We will get there too. I agree, the Lortab gags me and the potassium is like trying to swallow sand. I am sick of the liquids, but they are keeping us alive. Hang in there. I send you my prayers and a big hug. Leslie
Hey Trish-
Hang in there. It will get better. I had my lap RNY on 6/22. I was able to walk 1 mile today (it took me 45 minutes). I was taking the lortab for pain the first day and it made me feel the same way you do. I made myself stop taking it and only took children's tylenol meltaways. It made a HUGE differen ce. My surgeon told me maybe I was experiencing "dumping" from the lortab because it contains sugar. HE said some are just more sensitive to the amount of sugar in things. I hope this helps! Don't forget that you can have SF popsicles too! That might help to get your water in since they count towards your water amount (along with crystal light too!) Good Luck and I hope you feel better!

Trish take a moment to regroup...Take your pain meds to take the edge of...resting helps you heal faster.
I am 10 days post op...I realized that we are on a controlled diet program and we must follow everything for the best results.
We will look back in a couple of months and say...Thank God we made it over.

I had my surgeryon the 26th and stayed in the hospital until the 28th. I felt absolutely horrible in the hospital so when I got home I overdid it and felt terrible the 30th. You have to make yourself walk, make yourself rest, make yourself sip liquids all the time. I look at it like I am in an 'army' - very very regimented! This website has been my lifesaver! To see all the people who have been through this is soooo encouraging! Hang in there.. you will steadily improve every day if you keep 'making yourself..'
AND will be praying for you - I know my surgery went well because of all the prayers I received, glory to God!

I had mine on the 26th. I feel so much better after i eat my protein meals. Like a protein shake or some cottage cheese. You got to get in the protein. I am sure thats were my energy is coming from because I can literally tell after I eat I feel so much better. It will also help you heal faster. Try sugar free pudding made with skim milk and two scoops of protein powder. For 4 oz you'll get about 14 grams of protein. i like the chocolate fudge pudding with Body Fortress chocolate protein powder. Low fat Cottage chesse has 13 grams of protein for a 4 oz servings. Isopure is also good to sip for every oz you get two grams of protein. I know everything doesn't taste good but you gotta get it down.
Thanks
