Before I had surgery dairy products caused me to suffer with constipation. I have had Lap Bypass and I am constipated and feeling sick any suggestions.

Hi Tiffany, I can only offer the advice I got from my doctor. He said that it is normal to only go every 2-3 days after bypass surgery. We aren't taking in as much food, therefore there isn't as much to go out. If we haven't gone after 4-5 days, we're supposed to try Ducolax suppositories, 2 times if necessary. And if that still doesn't do the trick, we're to try Milk of Magnesia. Oh, and be sure you're getting at least 64oz. of water every day. I hope you get some relief soon! Kath S.

Yay...I'm glad that worked for you! I'd never been constipated in my life until after this surgery...thank goodness it's only happened once. (knock wood!) Kath S.
