3 weeks post op
Today its been 3 weeks since I had surgery. I feel better than I have in a LONG time, I'm walking 2 miles a day atleast 4-5 times a week. And this morning, I weighed and I've lost a total of 32 lbs. I was almost in shock. But a good shock.
I'm still trying to figure out which protein powder I like but found single servings at the grocery store yesterday and bought 4 so I can try before I buy .... the big can. I'm still learning to slow down when I eat. I know I have to do that, but sometimes, old habits die hard. I've usually eaten/drank too fast before I catch myself and the foamies give me the not so friendly reminder.
Anyway....... just thought I'd give a little update of my progress. Hope everyone is doing well... we're all in this together.

Hey Mel - it sounds like you are doing great. Congrats on the phenominal weight loss. That is fantastic. I still envy you your solid foods - I don't get to start mine until the end of this week. But I have lost 16lbs since surgery and 19lbs overall, which I am proud of. I also need to find a good protein powder for when I am finally off of these protein shakes. If any of those single servings work really well, you should do a product review for us here on the forum.
Congrats again... - Melinda
Thanks everyone!!!! I feel great.
I actually went to bariatriceating.com and got 2 free samples in the mail today. I'll try em and let you know what I think. I bought 4 of the single servings of the SPIRU-TEIN protein powders. I'll let ya know what I think of those too.
I know from reading the boards though.... that everyone has different tastes as far as what they like. I know I've seen some people post their favorites.. and it would've been one I tried and I thought it was AWFUL!!! So I'm just gonna try these single servings before I actually buy anything bigger...

Hey Mel - 3 weeks today for me too! You are doing so awesome!!!
I have a challenge this week because we are having serious training for my job and I am at a hotel out by Disney. I was freaking out at first, but it is turning out to be OK. This morning the breakfast they served was all carbs - cereals, full fat yogurt, toast, bagles and stuff like that. I went up to the banquet manager and told him that I had RNY and I needed 2 oz of scrambled egg. Well, he brought me way to much, but I ate just the 2 oz and one slice of melon. Then, lunch was lunch meat and bread with potato salad and chips. So, here I go to the manager who brought me a way too big portion of chicken salad and another slice of melon. I ate a small amount and that was that. For dinner at the hotel tonight I got the shrinp sauted with mushrooms, scallons and tomoatoes served over linguini without the linguini. Insetead they gave me asparagus. Since I have a microwave and fridge in my room, I ate a small amount and have enought for the next two nights! I really thought the food would be a problem, but I am doing OK. The only thing I want to have is a SCALE! I want to know!! When I went to the doc last Wed. I was down 24.5 lbs. I go back to the doc on July 5th. Can't wait to see where I am.
Good job on 2 miles!! I do a mile or so 7 days a week.
Keep up the good work! Woo Hoo!
