Question on how I'm feeling...
I had surgery on Monday morning and on Friday night, I did a really stupid thing and when I laid down in bed, I got my legs up and laid back. I thought I was going to DIE! It hurt so bad! Since then, I have a pain in my left side that I don't know if it's something to worry about. I was walking up a storm before this and it always felt good to walk, now it hurts my left side. I didn't have any drainage after they took out the drainage tube, could that be a problem?
Also, after I did that, when I am laying down and take a drink of water, it hurts. It doesn't hurt when I'm sitting up however.
It may be nothing to worry about, but if someone out there has felt similar, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Pam
I say this all the itme in this site - if something is bothering you - call your doctor. Seriously, they got paid a boat load of cash for this operation, so call them. My first night home I got nasuea from my liquid pain meds and had the dry heaves twice. I called my dr's office and paged Dr Kim because I was freaking out. Then, later that night I got flushed and my heart was racing and it scared me so I called him again. I didn't care if I was bothering him or not, I was scared so I called. And you know what? He was fine with it. He even called me the next morning to check on me and changed my pain meds.
So please, if you are worried about somthing, just call your surgeon.
Hi Pam...I had my surgery a year ago June 12th...I was just reading this board to see how the new June'ers are doing!
Actually, I had the same exact pain in the left side...and SEVERAL people who had it during my time had it also....I never called the dr or anything, I just hung it out--I thought -before i relaized other people had it- that I may have a hernia....
But I think it is normal---- but if it bothers you ...consult your dr!!!!! I wish you the best of Luck!!!!
