Had my Laproscopic RNY on Thursday. The girl that they did before me had esophogeal problems, and took a bit longer, so I was in the "holding tank" for about 2 hours. Was SO nervous, because although I had cut down, I hadn't totally stopped smoking, but talked to the doctor, and my tests and my breathing were very good, and he wrote me a scrip for Chantix to take home (Best part of the surgery so far...have had no ciggies for 4 days!!! ) Yay me!! I didn't wake up still intobated, which I feared a bit, but ooooooh the pain! I had been told that they were going to have me get up and walk 4 hours after surgery, and when no one did, I rang the nurse and said I needed to walk NOW! I did as much walking as possible. Had a VERY cute nurse named Mark, who had to take out my floey, which mortified me, but oh well. My pain meds seem to wear off after 2 hours, so I sleep for 2 hours, then walk, then drink, then watch the clock LOL That's my story, and I'm so glad its over

Congrates! I had my surgery Thursday too, I have been getting around better today but the doctor left my drain tube in and the left??? He took the other one out. Well anyway this drain tube is giving me more pain that any of the other incisions and it hurts to breath sometimes...How are you feeling? I've been really tired and having trouble getting my water in, I always feel full, and afraid I'm going to make myself sick...lol what to do... any way God Bless and I'm glad your doing better! Hope your soreness goes away soon! Robin
