Is is safe to go back to work in 2 weeks if you are moving and bending a lot? I have not gone to a seminar yet, but I have been giving my employer a heads up and told her that I expect 2 weeks.

Hi, it's me again! Judging by how I feel today 5 days post-op, 2 weeks will be good for me, but I don't have to bend a lot or lift anything at work other than myself and papers. My incision healed sufficiently after 4 days that bending over to pick up something like the paper or my shoes hurt but was not excruciating and I don't feel anything pulling apart. Like I said before, I'm recuperating alone and doing just fine. Good luck!

Hi I had surgery on monday 6/18 LapRNY I came home wednesday and drove myself to work on thursday. I have my own business so I have people that work for me and I just have to be there. 2 week is good depending on your job you shouldn't be lifting anything over 30 lbs. for a while, it is hard to remember because you had a lap that you feel good ,you must remember that you still had major surgery they resected your bowel and redid your stomach so you have to take it easy. I found that pain wise my natural childbirth was worse then this surgery, but the healing time for this surgery should take longer then childbirth and that is usually a 6 week recovery Susan
