I had Lap RNY 10 days ago & last night I was Fully able to sleep on my belly. For about 5 days prior I was able to sleep partial belly, but last night full belly was the best sleep I've had since I had my surgery. There is HOPE! Amy Lap RNY 6/11/07 surg/now/goal 254/232/135

You rock!! I'm 8 days out, and can't sleep comfortably in any position. Partial belly makes it feel like it's pulling all my staples out. I may try to crawl on the bed this afternoon on my belly just to see if I can do it. If not...I've had it, and it's back to the recliner!

What I did fo rPartial belly was take a blanket an d put ot under my side/belly for supoort. You could prob use a pillow too. At first it did feel like my staples were being pulled but then it went away. Yesterday I had them out & Ahhhhh...a good nights sleep. Good Luck! Amy

Thanks. I did try propping my belly on some pillows, and still no go. I'm so fortunate in that I had lap, so no outside stiches for me. I mean it feels like my internal ones are getting ripped out. yuck! Oh well...I've got a comfy recliner. This is a small price to pay for the benefits.

I'm a big belly sleeper and STILL can't do it comfortably! Sleeping on my side is still short lived and a tad uncomfortable as I feel it in all my abdominal muscles, like a pulling on the inside. More power to you for getting back to your normal self sooner. Can't wait!
