I am so excited and yet nervous, I am sure you all know the feeling. The one thing I find interesting is I am reading on how some of you have to do 7 or more days of the pre op clear liquid diet. I am only required to do one day.Guess i lucked out. If you have any advise I sure would appreciate it. I have all of my vitamins, I have been drinking lots of fluids and eating small portions, so I think I am ready. I don't feel as though i am losing my best friend although I do think, "gee I really would like a piece of that cake" when I see my coworkers celebrating birthdays and what not. I suppose when I think about it further I say to my self, but I am gonna look great when I lose this wt. So anyway I am excited, nervous, and so many more emotions, but more than any thing I just want June 27th get here so I can get the show on the road.

Girl i am right there with ya. However i am one that has to do the 2 week liquid, and I did not cut portions before hand. I did however cut out sodas 5 months ago, The first few days of the liquid I would find myself thinking about food all the time. Like, I'll pick up some lunch before I go there, or I just stop for quick snack since I am going to be early to that appt. It really made me realize how much food was a part of my life, even when I was not even hungry. The liquid diet has not been difficult for me, except the first day I got a huge headache. Other than that I have been fine. Good luck with your surgery, I am going to add you as a friend, so if I get a chance after my surgery I will post anything I find helpful. God Bless you and your family. Donna

Thanks you for the response. Yes definatlely keep me posted on your pre-op and post op experiences. When is your surgery? I am already trying to figure out the simplest things to eat once I return to work. I believe if things go as planned I will be in the 3-4 week stage which is blendered food or mushy. Best of luck to you and I look forward to hearing more.

Oh, yes, I understand excited and nervous! I cope by ignoring the nervous! I only have to do the liquid diet 1 day, too. Also, even though the literature the WLS center gave us said to try high protein drinks before surgery, I chose not to. I was afraid if the stuff was disgusting I wouldn't have the surgery..afterwards it's just too bad; I'll just have to drink it or nothing! Take care and enjpy the last week before your "rebirth" - it goes quickly.
