May not have surgery on Monday...
Not sure I'll be having my surgery on Monday. Got a call from the doctor today that did my pre-op and my chest xray shows something in the middle of my chest. They don't think it's the lungs or the heart, but there is a prominent area around the azygos vein which is apparently in the middle chest tissue. I have to have a CT scan right away tomorrow morning. He said it may be nothing, perhaps I was tilted wrong when they did the xray, but it showed a difference from my last chest xray in April. He said if they find something they will probably have to delay my surgery. Hopefully it's nothing and was just a shadow, but wants me to be prepared if they do cancel surgery.

Alright Pam......... I'm sending positive thoughts your way. It's gonna be nothing and they'll know soon enough to keep your surgery on Monday. BUT in the off chance that they aren't able to do it Monday... I'm a firm believer in the ol' "EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON" ... sometimes it takes awhile to find out what that reason was (if ever)... but it must be a good one if its gonna delay you a day or so. Cuz I have this special seat on the loser's bench for you. Working hard to turn my fat butt into a skinny butt so there's room for ya.
Anyway...... I'm staying positive..... keep us updated!!!

I know how scared and disappointed you must be. I am scheduled for Tuesday and if it gets delayed for any reason I will certainly be bummed out. BUT, if there is something else going on, better to find out now than during surgery.
Best of luck sweetie... We have to believe that everything will be fine and that everything will go as scheduled!! Keep us posted...
You are in all our thoughts & prayers.

Hi Pam,
I certainly hope that it was a problem with the x-ray and nothing that will delay your surgery date!! I'm sending up positive thoughts for you, and I hope that your CT scan went well today. You are the biggest cheerleader on these boards, and everyone is rooting for you too!!! Please keep us updated on what happens.
Best of luck wishes coming your way,
Amanda
