24 Hours to go.....
I would say......leave all your jewelry at home....a big comfy gown that opens in the front for easy access......comfy terry cloth flip flops or ballerina type shoes since I think the nurses make you walk and walk and walk after the surgery. My prayers are with you....be strong....just think of how you'll look back at tomorrow and say to yourself, "what was I so worried about....?" Best of luck.....
One small thing that I've seen posted to bring that is going to be needed is chapstick....I guess you're going to need it.
And.....WOOOOOOO HOOOOOO you're going to be a LOSER tomorrow!
Take a deep breath and relax....you've been waiting for this for a LONG time.
Congrats and can't wait to watch your progress as a Loser!

I brought pajamas, but never used them because I couldn't get the IV tubing through them, so I just did the 2 hospital gown thing... also bring some slippers with a rubber sole, definitely the chapstick (you wouldn't believe how dry your mouth/lips will be), toothbrush and um a pillow. You won't really need the pillow when you're in the hospital, but trust me, you will want it for the ride home.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
Melinda
Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!!
The bariatric unit manager at the hospital told us in our education class to bring something to pass the time, but I honestly didn't feel like doing anything but laying there. I did watch a little TV in between sleeping and walks but maybe about 4 hours total. Definitely bring your lip balm (it is a MUST have), a pillow (my bariatric program provided one), and I would take my own toiletries. I used the hospital toothpaste for the first couple of days, and it was NASTY!! My hospital had gowns that were big enough that I only had to wear one but it seems that they like you to wear the hospital gowns because they have the button up sleeves...however, if your hospital isn't picky then you could try pajamas that are loose and button up the front. Also, slippers with non-slip soles are a good idea.
If a loved one will be staying with you in the hospital, it would probably be a good idea for them to have something to pass the time as well as their own pillow and blanket which are much more comfortable than the hospitals.
Also, a useful tip I read on here somewhere is to put on your lip balm just prior to your blue dye test and the blue dye won't stain your lips. I did it, and it works!!!!!!!
Congratulations on your big day!! I wish you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!!
