Surgery June 5th- seem to be doing pretty well
Well I had laproscopic RNY surgery on June 5th and i came home on June 7th. I have been on clear liquids since, until tomorrow. I keep getting a feeling like I am hungry, but I know I'm not. Anyone else have this? Worried a little that I'm not drinking enough, but i am trying, and of course i'm walking when I can. How is everyone else feeling who had surgery the same day??? the first 2 days I was like, "oh my god, this is the worst thing I could've done." but I feel differently now. When I tell myself I am going to have a positive day- I do, and that helps. Thanks for listening to my babble.
Congrats!!! I'm a day ahead of you, but I felt the same way those first 2 days. I wondered...... what the heck did I do? But I'm feeling great. Still a little slow getting up, because I'm sore, still a bit of pressure around my incisions and my stomach overall. But I'm walking good. Standing fine. I too seem to have trouble with drinking all the water, but I'm doing the best I can. I've noticed.... water tastes icky!!! I started my full liquids today and do that for another week. Then on to the puree... woohoo me.
Congrats on doing so well after surgery... keep up the good work!!!

Hi, I had mine on the same day, and came home the same day. I keep telling everyone how I don't feel hungry yet. Next week starts the full liquid, and then two weeks of pureed. Bought that baby food yummy. I find it hard to drink so much too, but am doing it, and am having no problems with the walking, although, i'm a mail carrier, and walk all the time so i'm used to walking in pain. lol. sometimes i think i'm overdoing it, and have to slow down a little. Sore today though because my two year old granddaughter kept hitting my stomach every time she wanted a hug, which was alot, but am dealing. Haven't used any pain meds yet either. What to do with all that liquid vicodin. could make alot of money. just kidding don't call the cops. Hope you feel really good soon , and when your healthy it will all be worth it. I was sent home off all my diabetes and high blood pressure meds and it's been great.
