Excited and Scared at the same time???? After 3 denials, I finally got approved and got a date for my RNY surgery - June 25. Trying to cram in all the preop testing needed at this point!

Yep.....I'd say you're normal. Definately can feel both. I think the majority of us do. Pam

roller coaster of emotions! just wait until the liquid diet....that will bring up a ton of new emotions!

Amen to that!!! I don't know how many times I questioned my decision during the liquid diet part, and I'm not an overly emotional person but that portion of this journey sure did bring it out in me. I'm hoping now that it's over, I won't be as much of an emotional wreck. The one thing that really helped me was reading a book titled The Real Skinny on Weight Loss Surgery. It was written by two women who had weight loss surgery a couple of years ago, and the different things they experiened post-op and it touched a little bit on the pre-op emotions as well. It was a definite godsend because it made me feel so normal. I highly recommend it to anyone that is approaching your surgery date or even just considering the surgery at all.
