PET Scan (Scam) experience

Well I finally completed all my pre-op visits. Very thing went great passed every test with flying colors until I got to the Cardiologist, he was about 12yr old and decided I needed a Pet scan. which meant another day off work. So here I go again with the two hour drive to Louisville. I arrive at the office with nothing to eat since the day before just to be told that the insurance had not approved the procedure. Went upstairs to the Cardiologist office , he wasn't in (how convient) his assistant couldn't have cared less. I finally had to sign a waiver saying I would be responsible for the test if the insurance did not pay. I signed because the cardiologist made it quite clear he would not sign the clearance unless I did. Talk about pressure. I realize that all these test are for our own good, but this is rediculous. Now I just pray that the results are OK. I'm going to start calling tomorrow about results. Will be leaving Friday for Oklahoma my son is scheduled for surgery on the 13th of June. Thanks for listening Char

Wow Char....that's horrible! I would have thought they would have talked to insurance before scheduling it. Not very professional of this doctor. Sorry you had to go through this. Here's hoping that all is well, insurance covers and surgery is on for you! Good Luck! Pam
