Constipation

Hello and good morning. Can someone tell what can I take for constipation. I went to see my doctor this weekend and dumb me forgot to ask. If someone could reply asap.Thank you

Hey Espie Z.....I'm on the Atkins diet right now and I take Equate Stool Softener every week or two. They are small in size and I wouldn't think they would be a problem at the stage you are at now, but you might want to call the hospital and ask to talk to a phone nurse. I am on the liquid diet before my surgery and they have me adding 5 grams of fiber to my crystal lite drink 3 times a day. I use Benefiber because it has no taste and it does not thicken the drink. You can get it at your grocery store. Good luck!

Since I'm pre-op, I haven't had a problem with constipation....yet, anyway! I have read that some people have good results using Smooth Move tea. I'll be trying that if the need arises down the road. Also good old Milk of Magnesia does the trick sometimes too!

Miralax is over the counter now and is in liquid form. That is what I was told to give my son. It has dosing for all ages on the label. Hope this is helpful.
