I can't handle this anymore. I quit. I'm convinced that I'm doing this preop liquid diet for nothing and that insurance won't approve me. Insurance is saying it takes up to thirty days, was submitted three days ago and surgery is scheduled for ten days away. I can't handle this pressure and I DON'T have the money to self pay! I think I'll spend the whole weekend crying.

oh gosh! dont give up.... I'm not sure who you have insurance with, but mine was approved in 2 days. You've come a long way to give up just because you haven't heard from your insurance yet. Think positive, because positive things happen to positive people. =) I will say that I've noticed a few people who have tentatively scheduled surgeries before they have received insurance approval. That way seems kinda barbaric and cruel to me. I'd rather get the approval and THEN schedule... no surprises. But chin up, whats the worse thing that can happen? You have to appeal but lost some weight on the liquid diet?

NEVER GIVE UP! I worked on getting my surgery for a whole year and finally after I did everything they told me to do, the insurance approved me and on May 7th (only 3 weeks ago) I had my surgery and I am sooooooooooooo happy. I feel wonderful and I am losing weight. The liquid diet gets old, believe me but you will be glad you did it because your surgery will go much smoother. It will happen for you. Hugs, Esther

You can do it!! Don't give up on yourself.......... Keep your head up and look at the long term goal hun! It is easy to give up, but I know that you have it in you to keep fighting that evil monster that enters the brain.............The one that tells you that you can not!! Remember the little train that could, he pushed and pushed and he made it you can to!

We've all been there. The wait is terrible and the self loathing is awful. However, if you give up, then this will just get worse. You are depressed...so stop what you are doing and think about the positive parts of your life...or the parts that you want to develop. I waited over a year and a half for my approval. It was difficult and I got really frustrated. However, today, I am eight months past surgery and about seventy pounds lighter. My weigh loss has been slow compared to others, but it has been a loss. The journey is wonderful and the sharing with caring people who have been where you are is the basis for some of the closest friendships that you have ever had. If you do the preop liquid....you will lose weight.....that is a plus. If you do the preop liquid diet, you will be ready for surgery...that is a plus. You can only lose if you give up on yourself...none of us are giving up on you.....

Oh HON....I think that's the liquid diet talking. I've heard it sucks and that while you're on it it's hard to remember the prize. Think positive....I'm going to believe that insurance is going to approve this quickly and you're nerves can be calmed. Call them Monday morning to find out the status. Keeping my fingers crossed you are pleasantly surprised. Pam

Don't give up! No use crying over spilled crappy liquid diet shakes (yes I'm still bitter...) Your insurance is just giving you worst case scenerio. I'd call them everyday to get a status, sometimes that works to move the process along. squeaky wheel and all that. You're doing great, just keep doin' what you're doin'. I know the liquid diet things sucks rocks through straws, but it will soon be a memory and you'll be on to a brighter future!

Don't give up, they may approve you in just a few days but they give you a bigger window so that you aren't calling them everyday asking what's going on. You have come too far to give up, just hang in there and remind yourself why you started this journey in the first place. If you need someone to listen, message me anytime. They want us to jump thru hoops to prove we are int his for the long haul, don;t let that push you out of fulfilling your dream!!! Good luck!!!
