Starting my pre-op liquid diet June 5th - Anyone else??

Thought some company might be nice... RNY surgery is June 19th. Very excited, ready, overwhelmed, crazy scared, psyched to get this whole thing started... Wish me luck!! Donna

Good luck Donna! I didn't have to do a full liquid diet, I'm finishing up (surgery is Monday) a 2 week low-calorie regimen. It hasn't been easy, but I have lost 10 pounds! Your 2 weeks will fly by and the surgery date will be here before you know it!

hi my surgery is 18th I dont have to be on a liquid diet for any period of time but i think that im going to anyway.. i dont want any problems.. what are you going to eat? I think im going to eat soup, protein drinks, jello, popsicles, yogurt. any other ideas? and Im with you im getting nervous.. i just want it to be over with and get on with my life

Hi Donna. I am on day 3 of my liquid diet. Thought I was going to have a psychotic break today from giving up my boyfriend (food). But I got through the moment. LOL I'll tell ya, there are a lot of head issues to deal with during this 2 week pre-op diet. I'll still be on mine when you start yours, so if you need to talk, just holler.

Hey Mary Allen I will be sure and let you know.. I am trying to look at this as a head start... not like I have a choice...hehehe SO your surgery is Thursday the 14th.. WOW, less than 2 weeks away. Keep in touch, so I will know how you are doing... I will probably be needing you next Thursday or Friday for some moral support. I keep thinking I will be OK, but who knows!! Hi Donna -- I'm starting my liquid diet on June 11, RNY scheduled for June 18. I am so excited! Most patients I know lost 10+ pounds on the liquids and still felt full. A great jump start for surgery. Good luck! Alex

I start my liquid diet today.. & surgery June 6th. That sucks that you have such a long timeframe :( but i wish you the best of success... Get on the roller coaster, put your arms up in the air & enjoy the ride!:spin:
