Dr Shina patients

I may sound silly but what happens at the pre-op appointment and then the card? I have my own card but am going to Dr. Shinas. Can anyone tell me what they do at these appt> Char

I had my pre-op today for RNY. I'm in VA, but having the surgery in TX. They wanted to make sure I'm good since it would really suck to get there and something be wrong w/ my labs. Anyway, today I had two chest x-rays, full blood work up, urine test, test for nicotine (I've never smoked!), pregnancy test (nothing there either!), and a full physical. It took about 1 1/2 hours. They will fax it all to ensure everything is a go for surgery. I have to bring all these tests w/ me to my appointment in Texas two days before surgery. They will review everything and meet with anathesiologist (sp?) and nurse. I hope that helps, Wendy
