After 17 years there is HOPE

Hello to all. I am scheduled for June 1st. I am nervous and anxious but excited at the same time. I just want to get on with the rest of my life. I just need the "scales" to be tipped in my favor. (Oh the irony in that statement!) I have been told that research suggests that 95% of diets fail. Of the 5% of people that succeed only 2% will be able to keep the weight off long term. I unfortunatley have been in the majority for the last 17 years. It is fascinating that the diet industry is a 40+ BILLION dollar industry yet there is essentially a 98% failure rate. What other industry could survive with a 98% failure rate? I am eagerly awaitng June 1st and wish all the rest of you pre-op bandsters the best. Dee

Hey Dee! Congratulations and isn't it something! I think it's soooo profitable, because they make their way of losing seem soooo easy and miraculous that people such as us, buy into it because we have no other hope at the time. I've never bought into any of the advertised new fad things out there, did WW for awhile, but gained that back after I had my second child. I've always jus****ched the infomercials and pointed out to my daughter as she was watching with me, see....results not typical! June 1st is SOOO Close! You are going to be a LOSER in NO time! Pam
