Topic: Just sharing a nice story...
I thought I would share my day yesterday...... I went to another town and met up with a woman I had gone to school with. We have been friends for 33 years. Sometimes we might not see eachother for two years but we always seem to pick up from where we left off. Anyway, at school she was the skinny one.... I mean skinny... with long blonde hair. I was the very fat brunnette. We were an odd mix for best friends. I wondered how she would react when she saw me as she has put on significant weight due to a back injury and diabetes problems. For the first time in our lives I was the smaller one. She couldn't have been happier for me and made me get in her car and off shopping we went. Until more recent years she has been somewhat of a fashion guru and knows what clothes to buy, what goes with what etc, whereas I'd always buy clothes because they actually fit or for their camoflague value. We were like teenagers in shop dressing rooms - giggling and throwing clothes left, right and centre. "buy it Sharyn, it looks great - you deserve it"!! I had a great afternoon and my faith in humans was somewhat rejuvenated and I was reminded what real friendship is all about - someone being genuinely happy for you despite their own cir****tances.

Hi Dollie, Can't find your most recent reply to me....but here goes. Glad to hear you all had such a wonderful time. Amazing to think you've lost 2000 pounds together. That deserves a big Horray! Bet it was nice being with people who understand what you've gone through. What an awsome accomplishment. We're still busy trying to get the house done. Hope it will happen someday. lol I'm sure it will. Predicting a busy hurricane season. Hope they pass us all. One can only hope I guess. Wishing you continued success. Anna

Thanks y'all. Getting there. Several new goals now set. BMI under 40, getting into the 200's, and so many new clothes to wear. Looking forward to this summer without all that extra weight!

Topic: RE: exercise isn't helping!
Yep, me too. I've been struggling to get beyond this 3-4 pounds fluctuation for over 6 weeks now, and it just won't budge. I bounce between 239 and 235. Have yet to get down below 235. I have also been really good with the exercise lately. I started walking 3 miles every day at work (Mon-Thur, and sometimes Fridays) and I also do the elliptical machine for 25 minutes somedays, as well as some weight lifting on other days. I also don't make the best food choices sometimes, but still do pretty well most of the time. I get in my water most days, not every day though. My thought process was that my body was getting used to my routine and I needed to switch it up - so I started exercising everyday and making them intence work outs, thinking that would let my body know "hey! something is different...ok...I'll loose weight again". No such luck...yet. I'm hopeful the scale starts listening to my body and starts moving again. My goal is to get below 210. So I have another 25-30 pounds to loose. I'm doing everything I can do

You know we share the same surgery date. Good job! Keep in mind that my 134 lbs includes a previous procedure. I was revised to the RNY. Since my surgery in June, I've lost 107. So sounds like you're right on track! Way to go! That always happens with me, btw. I will go for weeks and not see the scales budge at all. Then out of the blue, down another 5 lbs! Doesn't it just drive you nuts???
