I'm right there with both of you. Most days I have been pretty good about not grazing, but I am getting more hungry lately, and the Halloween treats have been very tempting. It is easy to lull myself into a false sense of security. I often give myself the message that I have achieved the weight loss I needed to improve my health, but I also know that if I slack off here, it will be easy to put pounds back on. This board has been a godsend in helping me bring my choices to the forefront of my consciousness. I like the crunchy things too. I have found that eating salt and vinegar soy chips lets me indulge, and gives me protein all at the same time. I am definitely bored with a lot of my "better" food choices. Anyways, I am definitely not the best choice on this board to give advice about this topic, but I can certainly empathize. Lori

I would start by going back to basics... sign up for a website like fitday.com to help you keep track of what you are eating. Call your NUT and set up an appointment so they can help you as well. Are you going to a support group? If not, start going back. You arnt failing... just falling back into old habits. Its EXCELLENT that you realize this and caught it early.. now its a matter of getting back on track. I am only 4 months out so havent gotten the hunger back but I know it will come. If you eat at 12 and are hungry again at 1 could be you are not eating enough, drinking and eating and the quality of what you eat. Heavier, fiberous foods will stay in the pouch longer vs something like soup.... the NUT can definately help you will all this and get you back on track!

Hello, I had my rny on 6/28/06 and I too find myself grazing. I know it is not hunger, just habit. They are so hard to break. I have a protien shake for breakfast, a protien bar for lunch, water with crystal light tea packets all day and then when night comes, look out. I hit the pantry. I snack on crackers, m&ms, nuts, pretzels, et****ep telling myself that because I have not eaten much all day and the weight keeps coming off (-78 so far), that I don't have to worry about my late night snacking! I am oh so wrong! If you or anyone else has ideas I would be interested in them as well. Good luck and thanks.

Hello Everyone - I read this board all the time, but rarely post - however now that we are in our 5th month out, I was wondering how everyone's appetite is??? I seem to want to graze, which is my old way of eating and I certainly don't want to end up there again. I have lost 73lbs. since my high on 6//9/06 - surg was 6/29/06. I am not interested in meals, just crunchy things - they seem to go down and stay down easier than certain meats. I do have protein shakes and bars - but think I am bored of them - is anyone else feeling this way??? Any ideas - you all seem to be loaded w/ wonderful tips and I am in need of some...........Thanks

Awww, thats not good! Know what I have done in the past when my appointments are so far away....go to the emergency room at your hospital! Tell them you are in pain and scared. They can order the test right then and there! Be assertive! You're in my prayers! Keep us posted on the outcome and hang in there. Sending lots of love and hugs.

I am a o6, June bug so I really cannot relate. But I can say, don't stress. Were you lap, gny or what? Size 12 sounds really good. I would say that you need to take control of the eating - and that is hard. Thats why we are where we are. Keep your chin up and get the support you need.

Hon that is absoultey ridiculous!you are NOT being a baby, this is your body and your worried make your PCP aware of this she should be able to get it much sooner for you,be nice but be assertive about it almost demanding if you have too,if she can't I would not wait and go to the emergency room at the hospital where they will do all the tests that need to done right away,I am sure you most likely have a co-pay for the visit, but there is no amount of money that can be worth a piece of mind, see what she says and mention the emergency room and see what she has to say about it and take it from there,I am only saying what I would do. Be sure to update us! ((hugs)) Nancy

I decided to take matters into my own hands and call about the referals my doctor made for the problem I am having with blood in my urine. I managed to schedule both the CT scan and the appt with the urologist. But get this. The appointments are far away. The CT scan is the 13th and the Uro is the 24th. The 24th???? I could be dead my then. I called my PCP and asked her to call me so I can whine about it and see if she can get me in earlier. Is this not something that needs to be taken care of right away? Maybe I am just being a baby. MichiGirl
