I spent the whole day at the campaign office of a governor hopeful. We realize that he probably won't make it...but he is a wonderful man who has so much to give. Nancy, I agree, if one doesn't vote...Then one has NO REASON WHATSOEVER to complain about the issues or the people who are our leaders. We had many, many issues addressed this year, so we've probably had one of the highest turnouts that we've seen in a long time. Many of our amendments/inititives are running very close. Well, I've got school tomorrow...couldn't take to days off. We are on our way to the quarries for a field trip tomorrow...68 first graders in a rock pile..oh lucky me.

I haven't missed an election since I registered to vote when I was eighteen years old.....many years ago..I, too, am a political junkie....can't get enough of it....And about those negative ads...They are designed to make you so annoyed and disgusted that those who are sitting on the fence will just give up and stay home....The number crunchers have calculated that only those with strong opinions will take the time out to cast their ballot. It is unfortunate that the hopes and dreams of our country are mired in the muck of complacency. -karen-

Lori, You made me laugh. The neck waddle....oh how true is that. When I shake my head from side-to-side, my hot dog bun shakes, too!!! I can so relate to your descriptions. I've had mine going for about 2 months now but it is starting to take on a bit more definition. I'm hoping that before too long it looses a bit of its wiggle - anyone know any weight training exercises for necks!! Cheri RNY 6/15/06 239/212/162.5/125

Okay, so I know this is a petty thing, but between my extremely thinning hair and this lovely hangy thing growing under my *****well shrinking under my chin, lol), I am looking OLD. I suppose that the alternative is dying before my time, but I am feeling quite vain and self-conscious about this. I start a new job Monday, and hate to think that my clients and their parents might think this "granny" (I'm not, yet) is too out of touch with today's youth (I probably am ) You know, if I run a thumbnail up the middle of this thing, from the base of my neck to my chin, I can divide it so it looks like a hot dog bun EEEWWWW I need a quick fix....if my hair wasn't so thin it could disguise a little duct tape pulling it all together at the back. Aww, your concern is so sweet I know I am dehydrating, I don't even break a sweat when I exercise, so unlike the pre-op me. I've tried everything. I do get in skim milk most days, the occasional can of diet coke (I know caffeine is not great, but at least the body draws some fluids from it.). The ice tea crystal light is the only one I can stand. I also drink hot tea once or twice a day. Yesterday was bad though, for some reason. I still get dizzy when I lie down or do exercises on the floor. I know that would improve if I had more fluids. I have definitely tried everything. I've checked the propel we get here, 28g of sugar. Well, this post is a good reminder about keeping up my fluid levels. Pre-op I could go for weeks without letting anything but caffeinated drinks touch my lips. Just one more habit to break. Lori

Wow Lori. You are doing great with the exercise. Are you afraid of dehydrating with such low water intake? Have you tried mixing your water with crystal light or using propel? Take care, Ben
