I think you are doing great Rebecca. I have lost 70lbs since surgery. I read somewhere else on the boards here that you should look at the percentage you have lost in a month. The first month out of surgery you lose a certain amount and that would be a percentage of your total weight. Well the next month since you weigh less you would have to lose less pounds to reach that same percentage. I think Tooter or someone on the main board could explain it better. But the main point is that the less you weigh the less you will lose per month. Keep up the good work. MichiGirl

I am so glad that soooooooooo happy many of you did!! it is IMPORTANT! LOL...I am glued to MSNBC ( station of choice and LOVE Hardball with Chris Matthews) Ben I took my daughter with me too, before she went to school and she thought it was so cool and her teacher sent me a note home..lol...that she really got a lot out of it and it was a great thing for her to experience and he said that he thinks all parents or like in your case your nephews should learn early how important voting is! so Kudos to you for taking the little guys! did they enjoy it or are they to young yet?

Topic: This is why Your Weight loss slowed?
Hi Everyone! I just read Rebecca's progress post and I read the responses to many with slowing weight loss.I had answered this in a post awhile ago and I just went back and copied and pasted it here for everyone to read, some may have read this and I apologize but for the people who didn't see it I feel it may help them a bit. At my visit with my nut on October 27th she explained the slowing up process in detail and makes soooo much sense ,I didn't even think about this. I apologize if you already figured it out,but if your like me and clueless it can help make sense! I am rounding the numbers off... Before surgery they figured my calorie intake to be around 3,500 to 4,000 (OMG how pathetic!) now rounding the numbers off...dropping from that number to the 300 to 500 (honeymood period) for a few months no wonder the weight flew off!lol...now my caloric value should be (to maintain) around 1,700 to 1,800 and I am now eating 700 to 1,000 calories a day now, that is so much drastically lower so that explains why the weight slows up as you loose so much weight and will get harder and harder as I go along. As you loose weight your caloric value always changes. She said that is why people at the end that only need to loose 10-20 pounds struggle so hard to get it off. Excercise is another biggie to! excercise burns calories, I don't need to go into that it, is pretty self explanitory. Honestly, I don't know about you but I really am happy with everything overall and I feel so blessed that I am where I am now,I have just decided to take it one day at a time for here on in and just let the weight come off as it will and stop my obsessing and worrying about it.It is like Psychological warefare on myself and I finally said to myself enough is enough! Just let it happen! Hope this sheds some light on things!! ((hugs)) Nancy 296-150-185 -111 Lbs 25 to Dr.Goal 35 to personal Goal

I think it's normal. I've lost 88 pounds, 7 pounds pre-surgery. Mine has slowed down quite a bit to about 10 pounds a month. That still isn't shabby so I'm happy. But I will go back and forth with 3-5 pounds for weeks, then lose those and then play with the next 3-5. I finally got to Onederland -- but I've waited 3 days before saying anything b/c I wasn't sure if it would rise back up above 200. It's been at 199 for 3 days now so I think its official!

I'm there with you, although my seems to more be my intenstines that my stomach. My visualization is it's getting squirted down the tube. Sometimes my growls when I've eaten or drank my protein. Sometimes for no reason. It's weird!

I had surgery June 22nd. I am down 85 lbs altogether and 70 lbs from surgery. ALthough I'm definately happy with my loss, I was just thinking this week how slow it has become... maybe 5 lbs a month??? Hmmm... I still have a long way to go for goal (50 lbs for personal goal).. so it is a little worriesome... I am able to eat more though..and thought maybe that is why it's so slow? (still can't eat a lot..trust me..but just more than the first few months for sure) I was wondering if anybody else felt the same way. Is this going to be it?? I'm honestly worried about gaining because it seems the weight loss has slowed so much..hopefully that's NOT the case...
