Topic: RE: Let's do a chat!!
Hi Nancy,
I'm game. I am pacific time. I have karate on Monday and Wednesday evenings, right after I get home from work, otherwise I am open. My new job starts tomorrow, and they are sending me out of town for 5 days training, starting next Sunday evening. So if I don't have computer access, and you are doing it that week, go ahead and I will jump in on a future chat.

The dojang had a sleepover for all the kids, so I took my youngest and got to relive my childhood, though less bullying this time around. Otherwise, I was feeling crappy and spent a good part of the weekend sleeping--maybe a post flu shot "hangover". I haven't had a very good food routine this weekend since I haven't really tolerated meals. I've been active, but not exercising in any formal sense.

Like Karen, its Monday and I was gone all weekend.
1. If you had one wish, what would you wish for?
I do wish for world peace and all that, but on a more pragmatic and selfish level, I live on a lake and am green with envy when I see others with ski boats go by. I really, really, really wish I was better at saving money, so I could get a boat for our family to enjoy.
2. What is your nickname(s) and how'd you get them?
As a teen, my deliriously skinny aunt used to call me Gigi for garbage guts. I wasn't even more than 10 pounds overweight then. My brother (BoBo) calls me Lolli, not sure how that goofiness started. I don't really have any nicknames other than that.
3. What is one embarassing moment you've recently encountered?
That would be the time in karate when we were playing some kind of chasing game. There were only two of us running, and my saggy gut was making slapping sounds. This class is full of teenagers, and three women my age (who don't have slappy skin), I just wanted to drop to the floor and crawl into the corner.
4. How many children do you have?
I have an 18 year old stepson, Andrew. Sadly our relationship has soured in the last few years. He is training to be a chef--how come I still do all the cooking?
I have a 7 year old, Connor, who wants to be president of the United States lol (Canada is not big enough for him), or commander of some multinational peacekeeping force, and an scientist/inventor.
5. Is there a significant other?
Yes, Lynn. We have been together for about 13 years.

Hi Ben-
My weekend was pretty good. I made yummy protein breakfasts both days and a nice chicken dinner last night. DH was happy. I did have some candy last night but not too much. Besides running down the block, dh and I went for a long walk Saturday night. We went for pizza with ds baseball team and I ate 2 small pieces of a medium pizza. I was overfull but not to the point of feeling sick. Just a little uncomfortable. I guess I need to pay more attention when I am talking and eating.
I am leaving in a few minutes for my CT scan. So hopefully everything goes well. I am supposed to fast for 2 hours before but actually have not had anything to eat or drink since last night. DS left for 6th grade science camp with school today and will come home on Friday. I had to get him ready and to school by 8am. So no time to eat before and too close to appt time after. I will eat when I am done.

Topic: RE: What do you do when you are craving sweets?
Thanks everyone. I have some ammunition in the battle now. I certainly know about the water thing, but doing it...well that's an entirely different story. We have popsicle brand sugar free fudgsicles here, they are pretty good. I'll keep my eyes open for those new recipes Nancy.
I did make a SF lemon meringue pie a couple of weeks back. I managed to eat one slice a day for about three days. Beats the heck out of my pre-surgery binge behavior.
Anyways, thanks to everyone for their great advice.
