Jackie,
congrats on your success! how true that the strength comes from within. i keep getting people tell me "now dont blow it". that is not an option. i dont think people realize that this is a life altering change, not a diet. yes, it is possible to gain, but we have to continue the path we are on and not go back to the old eating habits. what a year it has been and what a wonderful future we have to look forward to! teri

Well hello to all of my WLS graduates. We've made the biggest step some of us will ever encounter in our lives and have learned how good it feels to be called a loser. lol
But each of us deserves a big hug and pat on the back. It hasn't been an easy year but overall I'm down 180 lbs. Weighed in at 435 and today showed 255. And from reading your posts, each of you have done well also. Keep up the good work. I am proud of myself but as others have said when the weight slows down you keep asking yourself if I could have done anything differently and my answer is yes. But I am grateful for where I have come. Dr. Gibbs is an excellent doctor and his staff is wonderful. I feel that in order to get the weight moving again I need to go back to basics but it seems to be a difficult task.
Anyway, congrats to all and remember that our strength doesn't come from the outside but from within us. We do have a choice.
Topic: 4 days post TT with pictures...
I had my TT on Tuesday. I came home that night without drains (simple TT without anchor) She ended up doing a lot more muscle and fascia (the covering over the muscles) work than she expected. Apparently the fascia was ripped to pieces - she guesses from the twins because the damage was far greater than usually seen on a WLS patient. The muscles were in good shape but there was still a separation in the center so she stitched them too so I'm very sore through the middle. The line of stitches isn't too bad unless I reach too far in any direction and pull at them. I've been mostly sleeping for the past few days and I must say the recliner I rented from Rent-A-Center is a god-send!
I've added pre-op and 4 day post-op pics to my profile. Guys - they are graphic so feel free to NOT LOOK!

the board is definately quiet! hope all have had a wonderful first year with all the changes. Time to star****ching and making sure that the body doestn get back into bad habits and getting off track, honeymoon is almost over and we have to start being a little careful on how we eat. that is what my surgeon said at my one year check up.

Topic: RE: MIA
Hi Cyndi,
I noticed that no one had answered your message! I too am sort of MIA for a long time. I had my surgery June 1st, 2006. It's been a whole year out for me also. I've lost so much weight and feel so wonderful, but I find myself falling back into some old habits also. I haven't gained weight back so I'm doing okay as far as that goes, but I know sometimes I don't eat healthy! Keep working on it though, cause we sure don't want to go back from where we started! I pray your stressful days will end soon. You take care.
