Old habits do die hard, sooooo hard. I too feel the urge to nibble a lot. Nuts fill me up but I am worried about the fat content. I am down 121 since surgery. I am CRAVING carbs all the time. Arrgh. I have been trying to find better quick protein snacks. I have been taking Profect to up my protein, but honestly, I don't notice a difference if I take it or not. So, my suggestions for you would be platitudes, or at least grossly misplaced, but for my own purposes they are: drink more water, stop eating those damn carbs, and start getting in more protein. But hey, I am probably burning twice as many calories as I was presurgery, and eating much less of everything including carbs, so it is not all hopeless. Good luck, if you find the magic stop nibbling remedy, don't forget to let us know. Lori

Kim: Don't feel guilty, we are all human and the drinking with meals is one habit that we grew up with. I knew that it would be very hard for me, but I did train myself , (bad girl, don't drink). What might help you and it did for me, have a sugar free ice popsicle and take a small bite of that. Like all other habits you can do it, but I know that it is a hard one. Jeanne

Down 172 since June 20, 2006. I'm in a one week stall currently. Going to keep on doing what I've been doing and will hopefully come out of it okay. I'm trying to get under 350 for the first time in forever.

Hi, Surgery date was June 14 and I have lost 146 lbs. since. I am hungry but found that if I make up a protein drink with the milk and the DiVinci's syrups, this fills me up. I take a lot of vitamins and minerals. I have always been a water drinker but since I discovered freezing crystal lite or similar in a bottle I drink about 90 oz. per day. I am 51 and have severe arthritis in my knees so my mobility is limited for exercise. I would graze all day if I could but have to fight every step of the way. Still find it easier than pre-surgery. Good talking with all my fellow "June bugs".. Jeanne

I am so sorry I know what he is going thru. We lost our home in an electrical fire also back Jan 5, 2005. It was the most painful experience I think we have ever had to go thru. Its the little things that you miss most the little pictures my kids made me in Elementary School and my sons personal things that kind of stuff. It has been 2 years now and we are back on our feet and have replaced everything that can be replaced by money. I know its hard now but truthfully it does get easier I promise.

Oh, man, I have been grazing a lot lately - not-good carbs don't make me feel heavy but contribute to eating more often. I ate roast last night -too much because it was so good and almost vomited. First time in about 3 months. I've lost 103 pounds, but nothing in the past month (due to my eating I'm sure). Gotta get back on track!

The absolution feels nice. 10 cups of water and a protein drink and I'll be right again in the eyes of the WLS Gods.
